This Toronto high-rise was designed by internationally acclaimed architect I.M. Pei and engineered by a Weiskopf & Pickworth team headed up by Partner-in-Charge John Shmerykowsky. The distinctively slender 57 story tower is clad in stainless and features an open banking hall at its base. Due to the limited availability of rolled steel sections, custom welded columns and spandrel members were designed for maximum efficiency. It won the first prize for Unique Structural Design from the New York Association of Consulting Engineers.
