Guidelines for the Times Square district call for huge, colorful signage to recall and promote the area as a destination for drama and entertainment. This project for the building owner involved modification of the existing 42nd Street C-4 sign face at 5 Times Square. A 3 foot wide section of the sign face at a distance of roughly 32 foot from the building's north-west corner was removed, along with approximately 10 vertical feet. The pictured monumental signage was then installed.
