Located in Midtown Manhattan, 120 West 45th Street, or Tower 45, is home to global investment and technology development firm The D.E Shaw Group. Since 2004, Shmerykowsky Consulting Engineers have provided services ranging from the installation of ornamental stairs to structural review for new superimposed loads, such as UPS units, safes, and other items. The firm has most recently been engaged by building owners SL Green Realty Corp. to engineer a lobby/atrium renovation. This project has included the engineering of an exterior structural steel lattice wall, supports for large-scale suspended sculptures in the atrium and in the lobby, new bollards, and new exterior signage. SCE is the building engineer at this 40-story high-rise.
